Vietnamese tea

Vietnamese tea culture is diverse, with many different types and varieties grown throughout the country. In the northern regions of Vietnam, various ethnic minority groups have a long history of growing and consuming tea. Situated in the tropical monsoon belt of the Northern Hemisphere, the Vietnamese highlands, characterized by a humid and cool climate, provide favorable conditions for growing tea. Almost all of the old tea trees in Vietnam are of a local Shan variety called Snow Shan cultivar, and those in the highlands are of the Jin Xuan variety. Northwest Vietnam borders the famous Yunnan Province and to the west Laos, the northwest region is home to Snow Shan tea, a variety of Camellia Sinensis characterized by white hairs on the bud and a height of several meters, a specialty of Vietnam, with a strong, deep flavor, reminiscent of the strong spirit of the ethnic minority groups that inhabit this region.
