The leaves are only dried slowly, so they are not heated or shaped. The tea is lively, velvety, exotic with hints of freesia, grainy and muscatel. The Jethikupi plot of the Rohini tea garden has been producing wonderful white tea for years.
Jethikupi comes from the Manipuri dialect and means Jasmine flower. In the Nepali dialect (Gorkhali) the word jethi means eldest daughter, and kupi means funnel or cone-shaped. This means the highest plot of the Rohini tea garden.
